About ZAMBA
ZAMBA began with a dream: to share the work of rural artisans with the world. It was driven by a simple conviction that craft deserves to be seen. The sustainable techniques and ancestral knowledge passed down through generations are fading, worn thin by the speed of technology and the relentless pace of the modern world.
My name is Candela. I'm the founder of ZAMBA, born in North Patagonia, Argentina, now based in Lake Tahoe, USA.
It all started while traveling. Wherever I went, I found myself drawn to local artisans, trying to understand their way of life and the love they poured into every piece they made by hand. That pull, the impulse to bring those skilled creations to the rest of the world, is what led me to start ZAMBA.
Each piece carries an authenticity that challenges the person who wears it: to show up in the world as genuine, sincere, and attuned to what surrounds them. The soul of handmade craft lives in every corner of the globe, expressing itself differently everywhere, in designs, materials, and techniques shaped by the landscapes of each maker. Giving light to that legacy is, and will always be, the greatest inspiration behind this project.
What started as my own search for connection has grown into something bigger than me: a collective of artisans across Argentina and beyond, with new makers and new communities joining the journey. This is only the beginning.
The name ZAMBA comes from a traditional folk dance of northern Argentina, slow, elegant, performed in pairs, handkerchiefs raised, a quiet celebration passed down for generations. I chose it because it holds both things I wanted this project to be: rooted in tradition, and moving through the world with grace.
